Island Public Health Preparedness Workshop

Join ASTHO for the Island Public Health Preparedness Workshop on June 25 – 26 in Honolulu, Hawaii to explore, innovate, and equip yourself with meeting today's public health challenges.  

ASTHO will convene Pacific Island public health preparedness staff for a 1.5 – 2-day training workshop. This workshop will focus on the areas of leadership and workforce development, risk communications, and more to support Pacific Islands as they plan, prepare and respond to natural disasters and other emerging public health preparedness-related threats. 

At the conclusion of this workshop, attendees will be able to:  

  • Identify at least 2 strategies to enhance public health preparedness response capacity in their organization. 
  • Describe 2 or more innovative methods in risk communications, change management and workforce development, etc. to improve planning and response efforts for emerging public health threats.  
  • Identify opportunities to engage with national and federal partners on issues that impact risk mitigation after public health emergencies, including natural disasters, infectious disease outbreaks, and other public health related threats.
