Developing a Policy Action Plan to Improve Access to STI Medications Webinar

When:  Jun 10, 2026 from 02:00 PM to 03:00 PM (ET)

Ensuring reliable access to STI medications requires coordinated policy action, and practical policy tools exist to help jurisdictions respond to shortages and strengthen access. Join ASTHO for a webinar focused on policy options jurisdictions can leverage to navigate STI drug shortages and medication access barriers. This webinar will walk attendees through action plan development to address key challenges including supply disruptions, access barriers, and considerations related to the 340B Drug Pricing Program.

This webinar will also provide an opportunity for jurisdictions to share their approaches to addressing drug shortages, including what has changed since the development of ASTHO’s Improving Access to Critical Medications Policy Toolkit. Speakers will highlight emerging strategies and considerations to improve medication access and mitigate the effects of shortages across public health programs. While focused on STI and infectious disease prevention, this webinar is applicable to a wide range of programs and open to all public health professionals interested in strengthening access to essential medications.

After this webinar, attendees will be able to:

  • Identify key challenges related to drug shortages and medication access barriers and the implications for STIs and other infectious diseases.
  • Describe and evaluate emerging strategies and approaches to improve medication access and mitigate the impact of drug shortages.
  • Translate evidence-based and practice-informed strategies into actionable steps tailored to your jurisdiction’s infrastructure, partnerships, and resource constraints.
