2026 State and Territorial Environmental Health Directors Annual Meeting

When:  May 19, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 01:00 PM (ET)

Join ASTHO for the 2026 State Environmental Health Directors (SEHD) Annual Meeting, an in-person opportunity for environmental health leaders to connect with counterparts in various states and territories, share experiences, and address the broad scope of environmental health issues across the nation. Federal and NGO partners are also invited and encouraged to actively participate in the meeting. Through facilitated discussion, participants will set priorities for the upcoming year and strategize ways to build capacity and address common environmental health challenges.

Originally convened in 2005, SEHD is an organized peer group within ASTHO whose membership includes environmental health leadership from U.S. state and territorial health agencies (S/THAs). The peer group strives to advance the practice of environmental public health with the following goals:

  • Develop a national identity and unified voice for state environmental public health practice.
  • Enhance relationships and communication among states and partners.
  • Provide a forum for discussing key and emerging environmental health issues
This year’s meeting will be held in Nashville, TN. If guests are unable to attend, another participant may attend in their place. The participant’s name, role, and email should be shared with ASTHO via environmentalhealth@astho.org prior to registering.
