Office Hours: Problem Identification: Moving from Data to a Clear Problem Statement

Effective policy starts with clearly defining the problem. In this interactive session hosted by ASTHO, participants will use a policy issue of their choice (e.g., STI surveillance data, disparities, missed screening opportunities) to apply root cause analysis, identify underlying drivers, and draft a concise problem statement that can guide next steps.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
• Practice applying root cause analysis to STI trends to identify contributing structural, systems, and policy drivers.
• Demonstrate how to structure a concise problem statement using STI data.
