As ASTHO celebrates their 75th Anniversary as the voice of state and territorial public health, the ASTHO Senior Deputies Committee invites you to join this historic celebration of public health leadership. The 24th annual meeting of state and territorial senior deputies will be held July 18-20, 2017, in Arlington, VA. This year’s theme is 75 Years of Leading the Nation’s Health.
ASTHO's objective for this annual meeting is to provide a forum for creative thinking, sharing, and support among public health leaders resulting in individual and collective professional enrichment. Attendees will also benefit from a joint half-day leadership training with the ASTHO State Legislative Liaisons peer network entitled, “Crafting Richer Messages for Public Health in a Turbulent Political Environment.” The training will include a rich discussion by four national leaders on messaging, followed by interactive group discussions and exercises.
We are also pleased to announce that ASTHO will conduct its annual New Senior Deputies Orientation (July 17-18) which will be developed in partnership with the Senior Deputies Committee and the de Beaumont Foundation. Eligible participants will be notified by special invitation.
Through its cooperative agreement with CDC and with funding from the de Beaumont Foundation, ASTHO will be able to fully cover the travel expenses for one senior deputy from each state and territory to attend the general meeting, and if invited, the New Senior Deputies Orientation. If you are unable to attend, you may nominate an alternative attendee. State and territorial health agencies may also send additional attendees at their own expense. Covered expenses include: roundtrip coach airfare between your home airport and Washington, DC area airports, hotel room rate and tax, standard ground transportation, and meals at the per diem rate. Please note: ASTHO cannot reimburse expenses for rental cars. Expenses over $25 require a receipt.
HOW TO REGISTER
Registration is simple! All meeting registrations should be made online. The registration deadline is Friday, June 16 at 5 p.m. EST.
Hotel and travel reservation information will be supplied once the registration form is submitted. Lodging and travel will be paid through an ASTHO master account. Beth Giambrone will advise additional attendees on how to make hotel and travel reservations directly.
