Per Executive Order (EO) 14001, “On a Sustainable Public Health Supply Chain,” the public health supply chain resilience strategy aims to design, build, and sustain a long-term capability in the United States to manufacture supplies for future pandemics and biological threats. The strategy outlines the vision, goals, and objectives for a resilient public health supply chain, and the path for implementation. It was developed in coordination and collaboration among the Departments of Health and Human Services, Defense, Homeland Security, Commerce, State, and Veterans Affairs, and the White House Office of the COVID-19 Response.
